Good Health Brings Wealth

A medical student whom I instructed in the practice of the TM technique said the following to me after taking the initial instruction, "I did not want to tell you this before, but I've had a heart murmur for many years. Now it is gone." At my suggestion she had her improved health verified by her doctor. When I saw her two years later she commented that she was still feeling great.

Here are some comments made by fifteen executives of a major Fortune 100 United States corporation after just four days of the Transcendental Meditation program.

I've been meditating for four days now and the results have been much more positive than I thought they would be. I've been needing less sleep and feel more rested when awake. Also, I seem to have more energy, especially in the evening. My normal routine has been to settle in and watch TV after dinner. I've been doing less of this, feeling more inclined to participate in other activities ... In my work, I am feeling more inclined to take on a disagreeable task which I normally have a tendency to 'put on the back burner.'

1. I am sleeping deeper and requiring less sleep.
2. I am more alert-particularly in the A.M.
3. I feel more confident.
4. I am less irritable.
5. I have more energy following TM in the P.m.
6. I feel an overall calmness.
7. I feel a brotherhood with this group.
8. I like myself more.

I enjoyed the instruction far beyond my expectations. I found I had little trouble from the onset with the mechanics ... It has been many years since I have felt as moved by any experience as I have this last week with the TM practice. I am delighted, excited, and wish to thank you. Thank you.

TM is a beautiful way to release tensions. Since I have been meditating (4 days), I have not had a headache. For me, this is wonderful. I usually have headaches that last for days, however I have not had one since my initiation into the program. (If this is any indication of what is to come I can only say that no matter what the price it is 'well' worth it.)

At this juncture, there is no question but that I enjoy a deep sense of physical relaxation while meditating. I have experienced a slower rate of breathing and upon ending the meditation, a feeling of being 'ready to go' ... I am pleased with the almost immediate results which seem to have occurred in my case and am happy that I made the decision to begin TM. I am convinced that TM has immediate and long range application and fully intend to convince my wife to begin TM. Thanks.

I realize that this TM course will not only benefit me in this one phase, but throughout my life in all phases.

1. Have been averaging 1 1/2 to 2 hours less sleep the first two nights and, though missing a night of meditation, last night woke up after 4 1/2 hours of sleep refreshed and ready to get up. However, I went back to sleep for three more hours when I realized it was only 2:30 A.M.
2. Have awakened more refreshed after sleeping less.
3. Have noticed more interest and energy after more wakeful hours.
4. Have found that my speech and thought process are as quick or quicker but more deliberate and possibly sounder.
5. Seem to smoke (cigars) somewhat less and feel further reduction is coming.
6. Have found a general feeling of more happiness.
7. Have found a decrease in my appetite.
8. Pulse rate has dropped 20 points.
9. Have found my handwriting is more deliberate and clear.
10. Have found myself listening more effectively.

This course has been very beneficial for me. I feel that TM was something I had been looking for for some time...

Because the idea was not new to me, I was never uncomfortable with it. Due to a personality conflict in connection with my job, I anticipate that this is a successful means to help me.

Yesterday 1 functioned completely on two hours of sleep the night before. I feel TM helped me here. Stress situations this week (and I've had more than my share) haven't upset me to the degree that this caused any behavior that upset family life.

It is very refreshing.

My overall reactions are: it's the best practical ... most simple... least demanding experience I've encountered in many years.

I've been through sensitivity training, T-groups, encounter groups... the works ... But this simple process has more wholesome benefits than any of the above.
